Originally from Baltimore, MD, Mowgli is a street artist based in Las Vegas, NV using hand cut stencils and spray paint as his medium. Growing up, he was regularly exposed to graffiti and urban culture, but never thought about pursuing a career in the arts. Then during college, determined to clean up the uninspired graffiti and vandalism that inundated the town of Blacksburg at Virginia Tech, Mowgli contacted local businesses to paint pieces on their walls. After his first mural, Mowgli was able to witness firsthand reactions, which convinced him he was following the right path. With the encouragement of his friends and supporters alike, he pursued the use of hand cut stencils and spray paint to beautify the open walls of the street. He wants art to be for everyone and make people appreciate the buildings around them.
